Setup Instructions
-
Gather Materials:
-
A standard deck of 52 playing cards.
-
Optional poker chips or tokens if you wish to include betting.
-
Comfortable seating arrangement for all players.
-
-
Select a Poker Variant:
-
The most popular variant for Strip Poker is Texas Hold'em, but other versions like Five-Card Draw are also common. This guide will use Texas Hold'em as the base game.
-
-
Set the Mood:
-
Create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Use dim lighting, soft background music, and comfortable seating.
-
Have snacks and drinks available to keep the mood light and social.
-
-
Establish Boundaries:
-
Discuss clothing items that are in play. Typically, each player starts with a set number of items (e.g., socks, shoes, shirts, pants). Accessories like watches or jewelry usually do not count.
-
Set a clear "minimum clothing rule" if desired (e.g., underwear stays on).
-
-
Decide Clothing Equivalents:
-
Each piece of clothing is equivalent to a set number of poker chips (if using chips). If not using chips, losing a hand means losing an item of clothing.
-
Establish the sequence of items to be removed (e.g., socks first, shirt second).
-

Game Rules
-
Objective: The goal is to avoid losing all your clothes while other players strip down as they lose.
-
Basic Texas Hold’em Overview:
-
Each player is dealt two private cards, and five community cards are dealt face-up in stages.
-
Players make the best five-card hand using any combination of their private cards and the community cards.
-
Betting occurs in rounds: before the flop, on the flop, on the turn, and on the river.
-
-
Betting and Stripping:
-
Betting Rounds: Players can fold, call, raise, or check during each round. The loser of each hand must remove one item of clothing.
-
Fold Rule: If a player folds, they do not lose clothing that round but cannot win the hand.
-
All-In: If a player loses all their chips, they can bet with clothing items. A player may remove an item of clothing instead of matching the bet with chips.
-
-
Elimination:
-
When a player loses all their clothes (as previously agreed), they are eliminated or may continue in a penalty fashion (e.g., answering truth or dare challenges).
-

Variations to Playing
-
Speed Strip Poker: Use a simpler poker variant like Five-Card Draw to speed up the game. There are fewer rounds and less strategy, making clothing loss faster.
-
Clothing Bank: Players who win hands can bank clothing items back on as rewards. This adds an element of strategy as players strive to reclaim lost clothing.
-
Challenges for Re-entry: If a player loses all clothing, they can perform a funny or daring challenge to rejoin the game, adding another layer of fun.
-
Naked Bluff: In this version, players can bluff by pretending to strip without actually removing clothes. If caught, they must take off two items instead of one.

Tips for the Host
-
Ensure Comfort and Consent: Make sure all participants are comfortable and have agreed to the terms of the game before starting. Consent should be clear and ongoing.
-
Monitor the Game’s Tone: Keep an eye on the mood of the group. Ensure the game stays fun and light-hearted, and be prepared to stop or adjust if any player becomes uncomfortable.
-
Set Limits: Consider setting a minimum clothing level (like underwear) to keep everyone within their comfort zone.
-
Provide a “Safe Word” or Signal: If a player feels uncomfortable, they can use a pre-agreed signal to pause the game or step out without judgment.
-
Encourage Playful, Not Mean, Behavior: Remind everyone that the goal is to have fun. Jokes should be lighthearted and not at the expense of anyone’s comfort.
Strip Poker is best played in a friendly, respectful environment where all participants feel at ease. Adjust the rules to suit the comfort levels of your group, and always keep communication open throughout the game!
